Finix

Privacy policy

Draft under legal review: this text may still change.

Finix is a desktop application published by XWARE. This policy explains what data is processed, by whom and why.

1. Your accounting data

Finix reads the entries in your books in your accounting software, with the read-only access you grant by signing in on that software’s site. This data is read and processed on your computer; it is not sent to XWARE. The settings you enter in Finix (directors, tax choices…) stay in a file on your computer.

2. Sign-in and licence

Finix’s sign-in service (hosted on Microsoft Azure, Western Europe) passes on the sign-in to your accounting software and checks your Finix licence. It keeps:

The service keeps no access tokens or passwords, and not your IP address: it is only used briefly, in memory, to limit the number of requests.

3. Anonymous signals

When it opens and when the demo is started, Finix sends a signal containing only: a randomly generated installation id, the version, the system, the computer’s region and the accounting software. These signals are used to count installations; they contain no name, client file or figure.

4. Updates

Finix downloads its updates from GitHub (XWARE’s public repository). Like any website, GitHub sees the IP address of the computer downloading.

5. Purposes and legal basis

This data is used to provide the service (sign-in, licence), for support and to improve it. The legal basis is the performance of the licence agreement and XWARE’s legitimate interest in running and improving Finix.

6. Retention

Activity is deleted after 13 months. A backup copy of the licences is kept for 30 days. Licences and their users are kept for as long as the licence exists.

7. Your rights

You may ask for access to, correction or erasure of your data, or object to its processing, by writing to us through the Contact link at the bottom of this site. You may also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
